CEO and co-founder of @ComputingORCA: quantum computing in optical fibre. Interested in quantum and other new technologies, insights, markets and trends.
Over the moon to be announcing the acquisition of the photonics division of GXC by @orcacomputing -experts in ultra-low-loss integrated optics. Really exciting times for us.
James Hardiman from @DCVC . Didn’t invest but told us we needed more energy in our pitch (by US standards) & our first milestone needed to be 2x sooner. Difficult message, but he said it nicely, like he cared about our success. Changed the company over night.
I do not want any VCs to respond to this.
Founders only, which investor provided the single best founder experience for you that either invested or did not invest, as an angel or VC, in Europe?
Who was it? What made the experience good?

@BitcoinGustavo@pbrody Interesting paper, but pretty far from a breakthrough. They claim the need to be able to operate a quantum computer through 10,000 gates which is waaay beyond what is possible today. Also questions over the scalability of the quantum algorithm- known as QAOA they implement.
Latest #Quantum Tech Pod w/ @richard_murray6 Co-founder/CEO, @ComputingOrca is live! Short-term quantum memories can synchronize photonic operations, performing what is known as spectral multiplexing! https://t.co/itm9todcVX
Entering the crazy world of quantum physics. Probably the most requested show to make is people asking whether quantum computing is a threat to #bitcoin.
I had @richard_murray6 come on to explain this all to me.
The MoD bought a quantum computer from British firm ORCA computing - but what can it actually be used for? I tried to find out. https://t.co/41tOnmhbqR
Have you ever been looking for a job? Have you ever written a CV?
Do you think you'll need to do this at some point in future?
I got you covered!
Here's my new blogpost on the topic of writing CVs, with the focus on QC jobs:

IOP Business Start-up Award winner, Orca Computing has announced the creation of one of the world’s smallest quantum computers, a breakthrough that the company believes will make quantum computing more commercially viable. Read more: https://t.co/gzBQBLiJHX #IOPBusiness
@benjaderberg@BBCNews@ruskin147 @ComputingOrca Yes indeed. It's surprising really that what you say goes into the BBC sausage machine and you have no way of knowing what will come out the other end! I think 'smallest' means more to the average reader.
Fascinating week meeting execs from two very different quantum firms, Mandy Birch of America’s @Rigetti and @richard_murray6 from London startup @computingORCA
