@for59j54@OakleyCAD@DigiNeanderthal@StewartGH1970 The AVANTI sub title was 'take what we know and make it work'. Avanti was used to demonstrate that what we developed on the Heathrow Express and Terminal 5 project would work for any type or size of project. The measured results of the project were published in BSI/CPI BIP2207.
@for59j54@AshleyBIM Totally agree John. Everybody trying to fix something that was not bust. The CDE as a process was tested for over ten years and it worked, that's why it became a BS, BS1192-2007 and updated in 2016. Those goals are more important today. Cut waste, deliver on time, reduce carbon.
@for59j54 So very true John. The other big problem is OIR, clients do not seem to understand why they need new buildings or refurbishment. perhaps we need to get back to the 'BRIEF' or 'ER' clients/employers requirements.
@bondbryanBIM @KevinJFielding I think a similar statement was made in 1994/5 when AutoCAD/Autodesk proposed the schema that became IFC when it floated the International Alliance for Interoperability, which became BuildingSmart. Then came Revit.
@a_shilliday @thebimguru @Studio_Bim Red Lining drawings is better than no check at all. The only thing is if you generate drawings from models and then check if there is an error on one drawing all should be rejected. A check Review and Approve is required when sharing any data, either digital or analogue.
