@tds122@marcustheslim Hopefully he’s grown up a bit too. But we’ve had plenty who have been a problem. I guess the likes of Pietersen backed it up for a long time
@tds122@marcustheslim I think there’s more to it than that. He let the team down on several occasions with back spasms and reduced speeds on days 3-5. Agree, he’s one of the best bowlers but needs to really push himself to show he’s capable of maintaining his speeds over 4 days in this block.
@FanaticBears@downatfineleg Deemed to have changed but then was out due to him breaking trust whilst playing for England. So clearly hadn’t learned his lesson. He may well have changed since he was kicked out, but when there’s questions over your attitude and fitness, you have to break the door down.
@FanaticBears@downatfineleg Do historical racist and sexist tweets count as evidence of someone character? Or being sacked by Yorkshire for misconduct? Or can only evidence from 2026 count?
@boroboy151@boro_alex2 No one said he’s quick but 5 yards is an exaggeration. He’s not a no9 and plenty of intelligent players who aren’t quick succeed. You just have to utilise them correctly. The problem we have is recruitment didn’t see the glaring issue of having no recognised centre forward.
@boroboy151@boro_alex2 He scores goals at international level. So what is it that’s stopping us getting the best out of him. I’d say Lee Dong Gook take that prize.
@boro_alex2@GeorgeScott96@TomCanty05 I think the lack of changes shows what Hellberg thinks of them. If your team is knackered and you still don’t want to bring anyone on then it says a lot about them.
@ChrisBa13206760@BarrettFlee@henrywinter Is that not a worry though? We have a squad designed to play one way. So when we come up against a side who can counter that, we have nothing?
@BarrettFlee@henrywinter The problem is Reece James lasts a couple of matches and is injured again, White’s refused to play for years so should be behind anyone who has made themself available, Tomori hasn’t been anywhere near the squad to know if he’s good enough and Hall and Livramento inexperienced
@LezzzLaw@tds122 He tailed off against India too, after a promising start. I don’t think that’s his fault though. He’s a good short form player and he’s been fast tracked don that route. He’s not had the depth of experience in long form cricket so has no experience to fall back on
@TheMackemRacer@tds122 We made the same mistake with Rashid. So scared he wouldn’t be consistent enough we didn’t try him and wasted our best spin talent in the last 20 years, probably more. You have to try the likes of Rehan to rule them out. He seems to excel under pressure to me. I like it
@RobertoDeChirpy@DarrenF56875407 @PeterPrior1991 @Ben_Islington Milner won the UCL and played in the comp far longer. Like I say, you can make the stats say what you want. They’re both excellent players worth giving praise to. We love hunting for negatives in Britain.
@RobertoDeChirpy@DarrenF56875407 @PeterPrior1991 @Ben_Islington Where did Barry go after? Where did Milner go after? I’m not arguing Barry wasn’t a great player. I don’t understand the level of negativity towards Milner because he’ll be top of the appearances charts. You can Taylor stats to suit any narrative. I said that earlier.
