🚨 Beyond thrilled to share that my PhD work is now available as a BioRxiv pre-print! 🥳 A huge thank you to my amazing colleagues, mentors, and collaborators at @scrippsresearch and @abbvie who supported and contributed to this project!
Check out our recent efforts in @ChemRxiv to expand the chemical tractability of the proteome through NP-inspired photoaffinity probes.

Hey there doomscroller! Got a biologically active thingamajig and want to know why it does that? Oooooowee do I have a solution for you. Come on in and take a look at my wares!
Massive thanks to all authors, it’s a privilege to have worked with some of the best in the business.
Happy to share our Primer on small molecule photoaffinity labeling @MethodsPrimers. Great collaborative effort led by @Homan_Ricky68 w/ @LynJonesChemBio & @drcmwoo along with Sherry and John @ Belharra Tx.

Happy to share our (w/ @Teijaro_Lab) integrated chemoprotoemic approach to develop functional inhibitors of SLC15A4 - a challenging target that controls some exciting biology
“Click chemistry”—a term Sharpless coined— refers to the LEGO™-like ease of fitting modular chemicals together to form complex molecules. The ingenious platform has transformed how scientists approach drug discovery, bioimaging and more https://t.co/n5YZXoL3oL #NobelPrize
BREAKING NEWS:
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2022 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and K. Barry Sharpless “for the development of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry.”
BREAKING NEWS:
The 2022 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Svante Pääbo “for his discoveries concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution.”
I, quite literally, don’t know and don’t want to know what my PhD experience would’ve been like w/o the continued support of @_chrisgparker_ , @AppasoJa , and Louis Conway. You guys rock.
Shining some light on an old molecule. Rick (@RickHoman4) developed a heme-based photoaffinity probe and mapped its targets across the human proteome, leading to some interesting findings. Congrats Rick and team!

2/2 The opportunity to speak at one is an extraordinary privilege that I am forever grateful for. My sincerest thank you to the GRC committee who extended the invitation for me to speak, to the outstanding scientists who I learned a great deal from, and to the new friends I made!
1/2 It was my profound honor to have been invited to speak on my developing thesis work at the GRC on “The Chemistry and Biology of Tetrapyrroles”. Our understanding of these molecular phenomena has changed greatly in recent years and I am happy if I can make a small contribution
Prof. Chi-Huey Wong is awarded this year’s Tetrahedron Prize for Creativity in Organic Synthesis. Wong’s discoveries have shaped our understanding of complex carbohydrates and glycoproteins, and their role in physiology and disease.

I am shocked to say the least. As a budding scientist I was sold on and inspired by the mission at Scripps Research. Many of the students and I want to make Scripps Research our home for the duration of our PhD. I detest this decision and am disheartened by it.
.@uf is in talks to take over the nonprofit @ScrippsFlorida medical research operation in Jupiter.
The merger would mark a new phase in Florida’s billion-dollar bet on biotech. https://t.co/zzwzsOF0AD
Very proud and thankful to have had the opportunity to co-first author this paper with my exceptionally talented lab mates. Congrats to my PI Chris, Post docs Louis and Appaso, and the rest of the team involved in the Parker lab and at BMS! First grad publication in the books.
Check out our recent work in collaboration w/ @bmsnews evaluating different fully functionalized diazirine tags for chemoproteomic studies. Turns out, tag choice has a big impact on what you “see” by MS. We also developed a new terminal diazirine tag
