There are a lot of 4K BDs that use 2k masters

He should have just kept MiSTer Pi in production and made the SS1 as just a carrier board and case for the MiSTer Pi board. The CD support is only USB

The lack of acknowledgement of the MiSTer project anywhere on the SS1 marketing, hardware or packaging compounds the issue. The closest we see is "compatible with MiSTer cores"

These should have been noticed and fixed before mass production.

This should not happen on a commercial product, we haven't seen this number of issues on even small run MiSTer solutions from hobby businesses

The out of spec PS 1 mem card ports which doesn't allow the likes of the memcard Pro to work and can damage cards

The out of spec video DIN output with reversed audio channels

The NFC aerial has issues in some units

The way he's tried to distance the SS1 from the project is riding on leaves not only a bad taste in the mouth but also confuses buyers
