@symo62696 @HeathLyons Unless port don't find a trade of course. Then that pick is absorbed and Norths pick moves up anyway.

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@stone1_matthew Only one of those examples does what you initially said lmfao. First one is a hawks fan troll account for starters. Two of them offer two picks and a future and one offers all three picks. Only one is just the two picks as you initially stated. Weird examples

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@AllEssendon @Dave1026380452 I like this idea in theory in doing the old wink wink with port to not bid on Dougie but Carlton won't have the points to match. Then we end up with Cody and no pick 20 anyway and I don't love that outcome.

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@RobertG2088 @traderadio @tommorris32 Ok that must be why the AFL needed to look over this deal and make sure it stood up in isolation. Port definitely don't turn pick 4 into 4 first round picks

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@Anton652 @dquinlan83 @tommorris32 @7AFL @1116sen @traderadio @7NewsMelbourne Only one is a 27 1st

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@RobertG2088 @traderadio @tommorris32 Port wanted the free agency compo pick so was always getting butters for free. If you just treat this deal in isolation it's terrible for the dogs. Hence why the AFL had to make sure this stood up on its own and probably made sure dogs had to get the future 2nds back

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@alkaiuf_ I think Essendon would take snell if available at that hawks kick. Bradley or Snell either or

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@spikestath @Official_Brum @Em1rzz4 @cleary_mitch This is the best position we have been in for 20 years, some people can't see it. We spent 15 years hovering 7th to 12th trading picks and getting no top 15 talent in for many seasons along with a few busts. Our last three drafts plus our upcoming draft hands, give real optimism

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@PatrickRyen @cleary_mitch @essendonfc Good news, despite the news reports I refuse to believe he would have come cheap. Would have been 15 plus a f1 at a minimum and we just don't need to be doing that right now in my humble. Plus the price north are spending is huge, keep our coin and strike in a few years time

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@Official_Brum @spikestath @Em1rzz4 @cleary_mitch Who gives a fuck about his age, do you honestly think Blakey one player, a half back mind you, is making any difference to shooting us back up the ladder. You stick to the plan and take 5 top 30 players this draft and bewick next year and let them build together

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@ItaintLast4ever @ScooterMcNeice Strange analogy mate, you compared shiels speed with drevers but small mids instead of big mids. All three of Robey sharp and Drever tackle and will run defensively so their size is irrelevant. Sharp in and under, Robey power and finishing and Drever speed and burst. Perfect mix

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@kangalegend @wuthappened2 @aflratings_GM I think you've missed my point. I know you are entitled to a compo with a bottom 5 finish but what Im saying is your pick won't actually get pushed back. The absorbed port picks in front of you guys will mean even though there's a bid your pick doesn't actually slide so no pick

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@wuthappened2 @kangalegend @aflratings_GM I could be wrong but I believe it's tracking like north won't get the compo pick. Because after ports picks are absorbed in the bid Norths pick will actually end up being taken at 6 (which is same position after compo is added) so won't actually be pushed back because of a bid

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@EgotisticUser @traderadio If anything give them our 2028 1st outright and we will definitely still be bottom 8 so will be a good pick and probably fair for Blakey overall

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@EgotisticUser @traderadio Great take, I wouldn't even be that keen to give up 15 alone for Blakey. Blakey is obviously a gun and would love to have him but he's not gonna magically make us significantly better alone. Stick the course with a big draft hand this year and get bewick/ nga boys next year

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@Squall85 @kirkmack20 @ScooterMcNeice Port won't get the compensation anyway because you have to actually use the pushed pack pick on a player to get the compo. But overall I agree, it's actually 1 and 20 for 4 and 5, just can't see how that's worth it. Take the kid we want at 1 and will get a good player at 20

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@SlamBomber @Squall85 @kirkmack20 @ScooterMcNeice If these use 4 and 5 to match a bid they get 14 back with the left over points. 0 incentive for them to trade up just to take Dougie

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@SlamBomber @ItaintLast4ever @ScooterMcNeice For the record I'm a huge Arki fan and I would be rapt with either option. I'm simply replying to the original post that calling it a blunder already is pure ludacris

[Rossy @Rick_Rossy0]

@SlamBomber @ItaintLast4ever @ScooterMcNeice You can only work with the cards your dealt. Focusing on flaws is silly imo. You could find flaws for every top end mid of the last 20 drafts. The lack of left foot kicking is offset heavily by the ability to burst away and clear the contest
