We successfully concluded our 2024 Electrochemistry Bootcamp @ChemistryUIUC A 3-day intensive course on experimental echem covering 18 experiments, 6 lectures, simulations, projects and tons of electrifying energy 😉 Thanks to @NSF@doescience for helping train 42 new echemists!
And so research papers are likely here to stay even in the era of AI: as a way to communicate and promote the updates to our knowledge that build “science”

Can small peptides have tertiary structures and behave like big proteins?
Our preprint showing that peptide frameworks supports tertiary structure in < 20 amino acids. The pores have many mutable residues that cooperatively engage with complex molecules.

Come work with us @argonne!
This is an exciting opportunity to push energy storage towards new frontiers of technology, and to keep the US in the lead of the AI race, by both using the models and enabling the infrastructure they require.

We are going to need a hyperscaling effort for autonomous science.
Moving from human to autonomous operation is going to require new hardware in the thousands of R&D labs in the US. But where is the money going to come from?

Just as we close applications for #NGenE 2026, out comes the product of our 2025 edition!
The result of the weeklong discussions, it reflects the view of the next generation of scientists on where electrochemistry *needs to go* https://t.co/IdVuQJ803S
“I think this is a persistent problem of people undervaluing data quality and measurement.”
This does not just matter for political decisions. In the era of AI turbocharging data volumes, undervaluing is becoming more likely
Can ligands mimic larger portions of metalloproteins? Published in @DaltonTrans, we designed macrocylic peptides that mimic the β-sheet region at the active site of multicopper oxidases.
