@jodyefaneto waliweka the right people...if thats the clique sioni shida...shida ni kama kina Embarambamba going to embarass us there..na clique ya cloutchasers.Colors wanted RnB Singers they got the best.Wakisema wanataka Drillers mtawekwa time yenu.lakini wakiweka Buruklyn Boyz bado mtalia
@NgomaCharts I remember when we had CHAT awards,Kisima Awards,Groove Awards..TPF...Safaricom Live..even before the likes of Diamond or Burna Boy blowing up...the music industry was heavily invested..now we depend on gossip sites to push our music in our own https://t.co/u1pFmtIy2k's so tough
@Noninimgenge2ru @MusicCharts254 True.We need to reach the nomination stage of the Grammys through well mastered and well written tracks. We have seen the competition is too stiff to the point even Bongo Flava's star Diamond Platnumz can't hack with Swahili Nation alone even though millions of fans are behind him
@Fena_menal @MusicCharts254 This market is tough for Kenyan urban music artists. The mainstream still calls the shots in hyping Hits instead of building a budding musical community at home.
@MusicCharts254 They should indicate as Sub Saharan. There is this perception that North Africa is an entirely different market and if bundled together with the rest will wallop them with huge numbers combined from the larger Arab World including Middle East.
@Brandy_Maina @Radio254Online Please do. No wonder it is hard to find a roster of female artists from Kenya headlining big shows and https://t.co/PuunEL3lvy it the crab in the barrel (wo)mentality? We don't even have a visible girl band to begin with for a long time.Salute though what the likes of MDQ do -BnW
@ArtbeatKenya There is an untapped potential of Kenyan music done in 2000s to blow up through covers and refixes.Remember when Amos and Josh did a rock cover for Deadly by Nameless at TPF6..it went viral after that.
@MusicCharts254 One thing I love from Bongo artists is their pen game..no lazy lines or overrepetitions that is synonymous with some so called Kenyan stars.Mtu anaandika line tatu pekee then repeats a word x 100 and think it can compete with what TZ acts do in the Swahili market.Uvivu tunao mob.
@MusicCharts254 Kiss TV back then was influential in pushing Kenyan music..they had a 6-9 am play ke from Mon-Fri.Tues Live on Blast 5-7 pm was Kenyan mix.A lot of artists got their 1st premiere TV airplay through them. Then they scattered all this Play Ke and people lost interest with them.
Thanks @TriomioOfficial for putting this negative Kenyan mainstream media on the spotlight and their stupid gatekeeping mentality. These are the people who love jumping on other people's shine claiming it is them that gave them the platform instead of recognising the work you put.
@ThisisCHITO @CydWambui 2. This issue of downgrading Kenyan artists at home should https://t.co/SxAf6Gfqwo is very shameful that we keep attacking those artists who are actually putting in the work on a consistent basis?
@ThisisCHITO @CydWambui https://t.co/NUUKX3LqsC malign him then you are still trying to hijack his shine when clearly he set fire to your agenda. Why in the 1st place were you so hellbent on putting him down?
@KellyClarksonTV @MusicCharts254 Her mom is also a singer and radio/tv presenter. The future of Kenyan music is here. Also the kid actress in Zora called Angel did the Destiny's child Survivor Cover pretty well.👏👏🇰🇪🇰🇪
@savarafrica Event ni Sol Fest but you guys forgot about your fans who came for your performance.Too many artists maybe unlike Shin City which Nyashinski did a solo run. Also DJs are the weak link if Kenyan music is only rotated at 20% in the heart of Nairobi City.Make it 50-60% on the low.
@MusicCharts254 They have a line of Corporate and Institutional Clients so their artists are guaranteed bookings because of their catalog. There is big money out there in Kenya that needs to be invested directly to Kenyan artists.
@MusicCharts254 Zing by Watendawili. I told them it deserved heavy rotation maybe it will pick up next year or they do a remix to it. It is getting good reception on tiktok.
@MusicCharts254 That Decade long Play Ke conversation is gaining fruits.Artists are making comebacks as they no longer depend on gatekeepers to monetize their music. Then Tik Tok created a huge marketing avenue both free and paid for music to go viral rather than wait for Youtube slow growth.
