@wasteoftym@Oilfield_Rando I don’t think people got dumber. I think we pushed our best and brightest away from trades. We’re left with the kids deemed not bright enough for college.
@Oilfield_Rando It’s not just DEI. It’s a lack of competent contractors. I talk to PMs and foremen. Can’t find competent help. Anybody competent gets promoted or disgruntled from being made lead on a crew full of morons. The senior guys have checked out and just collect a check.
@MAJTOURE Did we just figure out how to make white people comfortable with black history month? St Patty’s has green beer and cinco de mayo has margaritas.
We need an official black history month drink so white people can consider socially acceptable to get hammered for 28 days straight.
@SpaceborneMedic @anccpt @LPNational Legalization also leads to destigmatization. People more willing to discuss their problem and ask for help.
It’s acceptable in society to admit you are an alcoholic. We hug those people and ask how we can help. We could save a lot of lives if we treated meth the same way.
@SpaceborneMedic @anccpt @LPNational There is a case to be made for the opposite.
Legalization means professional production. Dosages an purity would be standardized, like alcohol. Overdoses and miss-doses, like taking something cut with an unknown drug, would decrease.
@SpaceborneMedic @anccpt I’m not sure I agree with you that legalization would increase drug use.
100% agreement that we need to address the societal issues though. Mentally well people don’t tend to abuse drugs. We never ask why so many people abuse drugs. We blame the person that sold the drugs.
