@FRMillionaires Such a sad development for Lyft. They’ll be below the cap, and we’ll all be well under 70%. Owning your insurance broker or wholesaler (however they do it) is a nice racket.
@boston_drives That’s been the rule in DC for a long time. Only one time has the clock struck 10, and it was a ride to my neighborhood (destination mode), so I couldn’t bring myself to cancel early. But no, would not typically wait. Crazy.
@TheRideshareGuy And please under pay me when the order isn’t ready on time, I get no tip for being “late,” and a low rating for my efforts. Not a chance any of that’s happening in my car!
@billybinion@stanveuger Yeah, that’s fine for DC - not about your rating. If you’re traveling at busy times of day it could just be really bad luck. Most of my passengers say they’re only waiting a few minutes, and only occasionally do I hear stories like yours. Maybe Uber doesn’t like you? 🤷♂️
@billybinion@stanveuger What’s your rating? Most passengers in DC are ~4.8+, and Uber allows us to set the a rating minimum in the app to ignore requests from passengers rated lower than our setting.
@billybinion@TheRideshareGuy Plenty of drivers are available, and many reject low paying fares. I guess it can take 15 minutes for uber to send out a low ball offer, then several rounds of increased offers to find the driver most profitable for Uber. If they just paid fairly, you’d have a ride instantly. 🤷♂️
@boston_drives So far, not sure what to say about it. Drove for a couple hours the other day. Gave 2 Lyft rides that met the parameters, but were not “auto accepted.” Good rides, but no $2 bonus for me. 🤷♂️
@FairfaxCountyPD Oh stfu. Add the cost of the dumb plastic cone to his toll. Maybe if all governments in the DMV weren’t retarded our traffic wouldn’t be so bad that folks do things like that. 🙄
@gutiwego I read it. Can’t say I know what the scam is yet. My initial assumption is they need a longer period of time to shift numbers around to screw drivers. Probably had to make too much of a payout on a weekly basis. 🤷♂️
@boston_drives PS the Lyft app is superior. But Lyft plays the same “hide the football” games as Uber, and it’s a shame. Last week I selected a baby $1/ride bonus. After the 11th of 15 rides, the 70% commitment offered more than the bonus, so I called it a day. Only 56% of rider payments. 🤦♂️
@billybinion Drivers in DC have the same experience as you. Unfortunately, I have to decline 9 ride requests before Uber sends me one that doesn’t include a long pickup. We’re both left waiting while Uber conducts an auction to find a low bidding driver. You still pay the same though. 🤷♂️
