Thomas Massie declared:
“I came here to make sure our Republic doesn’t die by unanimous consent in an empty chamber.”
History will remember him for it.
But Washington is no longer salvageable.
The Republic has fallen to foreign influence and corporate power.
There must be a cost. Everyone who supports Thomas Massie must either stay home in November or vote against the Republicans. And then we need a true America First candidate in 2028, not J.D. or Rubio.
If Massie loses tonight, does that mean we can finish the wall, pass the SAVE Act, reignite mass deportations, drain the swamp, prosecute Fauci, and cut spending?
Libertarians and America First folk: it is your moral imperative to make political life hell for the GOP. If they can unseat the best person in DC, they don’t deserve your support ever. Starve the socialists of any support, period.
The common argument that the US is far less safe than other comparable nations due to gun rights is basically a case of misleading via demographics. If you break down each demographic group via the rough global regions that group comes from, the US does not do poorly.
Obviously, this isn't a perfect comparison (e.g., because "Europe" isn't entirely white people anymore, nor is "Asian" all that specific a category). But I think it does get us into at least the ballpark.
So, the comparison is as follows. For US data, I used the CDC. The global data is from the UNODC.
1. White Americans have a homicide rate of 2.6 per 100,000.
According to the UNODC, the overall homicide rate of European countries is 2.2 per 100,000.
So Europe wins, but only narrowly.
2. Asian Americans have a homicide rate of 1.3 per 100,000.
The overall homicide rate in Asia per the UNODC is 2.3 per 100,000.
So Asian Americans are safer than people in Asia (But note that some specific Asian countries like Japan are among the safest in the world).
3. Latinos in the US have a homicide rate of 5.9 per 100,000.
The overall UNODC rate in the Americas is 15 per 100,000. Latinos are generally safer here.
4. Black Americans have a homicide rate of 24 per 100,000, which is the obvious outlier in the data.
That nearly *doubles* the UNODC rate for Africa, which is 12.7 per 100,000.
In sum, every major demographic is pretty safe in the US, comparable or better than that demographic's "native" part of the world. Except for Black Americans, who are far less safe here compared to people in Africa.
It's a huge lie to call this a gun problem. If it were, all demographics would be much less safe in the US. Instead, only one is, and that tells us the problem is not one of firearms access but a broader structural issue.
This is also why foreign countries that used to be more permissive of guns did not generally get any safer following their gun ban laws, as their homicide rates remained about the same. Guns were never the issue.
California. Minnesota. Michigan. Washington state. Virginia. Maine. Georgia. Texas.
The OPERATING PROCEDURE for Democrats is to flood a state with dependent foreigners and harvest their ballots to consolidate power.
We can’t share a country anymore. We just can’t.
Imagine being in that 10% or so who voted for Spanberger, then voted "No" on her signature piece of legislation just five months later.
They put their trust in her bullshit "moderate" message, and the first thing she did was take their representation, curtail their gun rights, and raise their taxes.
Quit falling for it every time, people. They are not moderates, ever.
@AngryExile@SB30Bio@Tom_Antonov Tbh it highly depends on your cooks as well. I've seen ship good that looks like it was made in a 5 star restaurant. Even in my ship it varied depending on what cook was in charge that day/meal. Shortages do happen on long deployments but that's obviously not the norm
@dhe3g Actually if you paid any attention during the discourse around that incident, you would have seen that pretty much everyone left or right agreed that officer should be fired and possibly charged
