GMC Surat. New Civil Hospital.
R1 doctors are being pushed to 42-hour duties, 3 TIMES A WEEK — that’s 126 HOURS of continuous grind. No sleep. No recovery. No dignity.
And it gets worse.
TB ward postings where residents are not allowed to even go to their rooms to BATHE for 7 days straight.
For female doctors, this isn’t just exploitation — it’s outright inhuman.
What are they doing in these hours?
Not learning. Not treating critically ill patients.
➡️ Clerical work
➡️ File collection
➡️ Personal errands of seniors
➡️ Buying snacks for consultants (₹30–40K/month gone from THEIR pockets)
All while facing constant humiliation, harassment, and unrealistic expectations to function without food, sleep, or basic human needs.
How long will institutions like GMC Surat get away with treating doctors like disposable labour?
Enough is enough.

To whomsoever it may concern:
Please treat your juniors, especially PG-1, with empathy. If you can’t, at least don’t be a jerk. They’re already under immense stress, overworked, and new to the department. They don’t need hostility from seniors.
Is it really too much to ask for?
The Wind and the Sun had a bet: who could make a man remove his jacket? The Wind blew with everything he had, so the man just gripped it tighter. Then the Sun simply shone. It stayed warm and steady until the man took it off himself.
MS is the sun.
Lots of bat v ball “fair contest” chat around yesterday’s SF. As long as you get a tight game in T20, it matters not whether the most valuable currency is 6s or dot balls. Yesterday, dots (& catches) were king, thus making Bumrah & Axar MVPs. Let’s hope the Final is as much fun!
