2/2 are wrong. In Pakistan due to undemocratic resolution passed some years ago, now members are forced to follow the party leaders even if they are wrong or else they are out. The only thing they can do is resign. This is not democratic.

In proper democracies members of own party can disagree with party leaders and vote as they pleases or feel its right or for their own constituents. Example Brexit voting in England and US Congress, where members are free to disagree with own party leaders if they think they 1/2
