What’s a position on Meteora ?

A position on Meteora is defined by the number of bins and the bin step, which together determine your range.
Ok, let’s break it piece by piece to understand :

What is a bin ?

A bin(1⃣) is a small fixed range with a fixed price that holds liquidity. Like a glass of a specific size

What is bin step ?

Bin step(2⃣) represents the price difference between two bins. 100 bin step = 1% price difference. Think of it as the distance between two glasses.

What is my range ?

A range is the section between two price points where your liquidity is active.
The range(3⃣) will be defined by the numbers of bins and the bin step. More bins = wider range.
But that’s not all !
Remember 100 bin steps = 1% difference which means higher bin step = bigger range. If the distance between two glasses increases the overall distance will proportionally increase too.

Why choose higher bin steps? Because a position is limited to 69 bins, so a larger bin step gives you a wider range within that limit.

Now we know what a position is. But how to open one ?⬇️

I’m really happy with my @MeteoraAG DLMM trading performance, but my wife thinks I’m spending way too much time on it.

So, I’ve decided to start planning for the future and challenge myself to automate the whole DLMM process — with the ultimate goal of not doing any manual DLMM at all.

To do this, I’m relying on two amazing tools I recently discovered:
- @lpagent_io, which helps me identify the best wallet to copy (thanks @satsmonkes for the introduction)
- @met_engine, which allows me to automatically replicate DLMM positions from a selected wallet (thanks @GeekLad for the introduction)

From there, start digging into wallets to see who's adding liquidity to interesting tokens.

Hey ! I've been following what you did with the discord, the community of your x account with challenges and updates. A lot of honest work it just seems fair to look for that kind of money for the time it's taking. I did a daily update for multiple months on Meteora and I know how much time it takes to deal with everything and I can't imagine the time it's taking you. And I love the idea of the 20k budget for competition and expansion of the community!
