before you spend an hour applying for another AI gig, make a 5-minute shortlist 👇
Copy these columns into Notes or a sheet:
Platform | Role + official link | Eligible countries | Device/OS | Required skills | Pay basis | Hours/time zone | Assessment time | Date checked
Then mark each role:
✅ I meet the essentials
❓ One requirement needs checking
❌ I’m not eligible
Apply to the strongest ✅ first. Ask about the ❓ before doing a long assessment.
Two questions worth copying:
“Is this an active project or a talent pool?”
“Is onboarding/assessment time paid?”
A headline hourly rate alone doesn’t tell you how much work you’ll actually get.
if YOUR Odin assignment is paused, here’s the checklist before you close the laptop 👇
1. Check your own contract + official email/Slack. Someone else’s status isn’t yours.
2. Check that your pre-pause hours were submitted and payment details are current. Flag missing hours to your project team.
3. Don’t log new work on a paused assignment. Mercor says the weekly cap becomes 0.
4. Keep checking official updates and complete the weekly availability check-in.
5. Shortlist other roles you qualify for while you wait.
Mercor says paused ≠ removed, and there’s no set restart timeline. This is general pause guidance, not confirmation that every Odin contract has stopped.

@jobsbykendra the 0–2 years range caught my eye, but the experience requirement could make beginners hesitate. do they consider things like retail customer service or handling orders for a small business? that would help people decide whether their background fits.
@nottheirmuse you’re right, i went straight into strategy mode when you were venting 😅 “founders drowning in supplier emails and order requests” already gives me a clear picture of who you help. hope the right person sees it soon. getting started takes a lot out of you.
@foin0ir this is the goal for my little Sheets automation too. i want to be able to change the schedule or fix a failed run without needing the whole thing explained again 😅 clear settings and a useful error message would beat clever code for me.
