Being the @IASPpain “research poster girl” for the last 2 yrs has been fun, I hope trainees got their abstracts in by the deadline! All the great conversations I had by my poster were insightful and helped me finalize the study that ended up published in PAIN the following year!
Many undergraduate students ended up coming by my poster, it really felt like I was speaking to and encouraging my younger self. Winning the poster award was the cherry on top, but really I think success follows when you intentionally value each step in the journey [2/2]
My final poster presentation as a PhD student happened to be in the same location (MedSci building) as my first ever poster presentation in undergrad. I tend to express myself with colour, and so as a nod of gratitude to my younger self I dressed in the same colourscheme [1/2]
The study that I won a poster award for in the “Pain and sensory disorders” category at last year’s CPIN research day (@CPIN_UofT ) was published this month in EJP!! If you have not read it yet here is the link: https://t.co/Svl3fbkYx5
It's the best feeling seeing your work presented to others in the field and was a privilege to get to collect neuroimaging and behavioral data from people with chronic pain receiving SCS treatment @kren27@DrAnujBhatia. My final PhD paper published last week is linked below!

Beyond pain scores/reflexes: the wealth of additional knowledge from expressions and rapid movements in people and animals - particularly when captured by high-speed videography as demonstrated by @IshmailSaboor at @NAPainSchool#NAPainSchool
Grateful for the opportunity to share my research at NAPS and for all the supportive and kind comments following my talk! 💖 Feeling so lucky to be here with such brilliant, lovely and supportive people. Thank you @NAPainSchool and @cpn_rdc for sponsoring me!

This was a challenging and stimulating lunch topic led by Michael Suillivan "Can psychological factors "cause pain"" - and how this claim impacts policy, social empathy and the lived experiences of those with chronic pain shared by Laurent Dupuis #NAPainSchool#patientpartners
A common theme in @DrCChambers and Jennifer Haythornthwaite's morning talks at the @NAPainSchool - pain catastrophizing starts in children and integrating evidence based management of pain needs to include children and family that advocate for them #NAPainSchool@KidsInPain
Yes, pain research really IS that interesting!😊 mission accomplished with the lecture I gave last week ✅ Always happy to give this talk for @Neurosci101CPIN. These brilliant students are learning a lot of neuroscience concepts early on via Neurosci101!
@EP_Mills did an amazing interview with @srirangakashyap for episode 1 of Seeds of Science!😊 Its been very rewarding meeting and hearing the scientific journeys of @UHN_Research trainees, If you missed the S1 teaser video check it out at the ORT website: https://t.co/PENgWI4C58
Episode 1 of Seeds of Science podcast is out now!
Listen to meet Dr. Sriranga Kashyap (@srirangakashyap), a postdoc at @technainstitute. Learn about Sri's neuroimaging research, and to hear his profound insights into the trainee process!

Such valuable perspectives on chronic pain from patient partners like @_justinam given @CanadianPain webinar. Experiences even applicable to other chronic conditions during #COVID19 ; the loss of "movement [as] medicine" and risks of traveling to access medical care #CPSPlus
