Lindsay Clancy claims that she only heard “the voice” once - when it was time to kill her children.

This doctor claims, like the other psychologist witness, that hearing an imaginary voice only once is virtually unheard of for people in psychosis and that obeying the voice “is not curative of the voice.” And yet Clancy claims she’s never heard it again.

Also, he points out that Lindsay had spent time that week specifically planning *which* restaurant to send Patrick to and how far they were away.

The saddest part of this testimony is hearing him talk about a child’s natural will to survive. It’s very strong, he says. The children would have resisted. She kept going, carrying out her plan, even after Patrick called her in the middle of it.

This clearly wasn’t a moment of delusion. She meant what she did.

I was wrong about Lindsay Clancy. Here’s why I changed my mind.

She was never diagnosed with postpartum depression or psychosis. She was not on 13 medications at once. She was not “hearing voices.” She was not abandoned by her family.

She was diagnosed with a mood disorder - never psychosis - and went to a variety of doctors who all prescribed different medications, which she took unreliably and not simultaneously.

She only heard a voice one time - and that was right before she killed her kids. Extremely atypical for psychosis.

She carefully planned her children’s murders down to the minute. She researched the distance of a restaurant she’d ask Patrick to go to. Added on a last-minute errand before he left. Calmly answered his phone call in the middle of her crime. Brought her children down to the basement one by one, overpowering their resistance and killing them slowly.

It does seem like she had support from her family. She may have still been overwhelmed, but it’s not true that all of her cries for help went unanswered.

I originally placed too much blame on the many SSRIs she was prescribed. For years on my show, I’ve talked to health professionals who have been warning about the violence-inducing effects of these drugs, and I thought Lindsay’s case may be an example of that reality.

Is it still possible these SSRIs had a negative effect? Absolutely. But the case that these drove her into a psychotic episode is weak.

This evidence continues to reveal, in my opinion, that Lindsay Clancy methodically murdered her children and she was fully aware of what she was doing.

No more than speculation, obviously, but I like how it preserves the eternality of damnation with the finiteness of the positive punishments, while preserving the chief pain of hell—deprivation of the beatific vision. It's been pretty dark here lately, but it makes me all the more grateful to have a wife who really loves her children and is radically devoted to her family. And is even more repulsed by the Lindsay Clancy fan club than I am. It also makes me all the more sympathetic to the young men who haven't found a wife yet and are absolutely terrified of ending up with the sort of woman we see in these TikTok videos.

It's true that young people today "have it easy," in certain ways, when compared to older generations. But not in this way. When it comes to fulfilling the fundamental human need and desire to find a faithful, virtuous spouse and start a family, I think this generation can, without exaggeration, say that they just might have it worse than anyone ever has.

Catholic instagram influencers water down the Faith and even commit heinous theological errors because they’ve told themselves apologetics is about convincing people of the Faith, not defending it.

The Holy Spirit is the one who convicts, it is only our job to give ample defense of our Faith in a world of unbelief. The desire to “convince” people of Catholicism is ironically how modernism was born, because its heresiarchs wanted to convince modern men hostile to the Faith instead of seeking to defend Catholicism and praying for their conversion.
