@TerryBULL19 @TNLUK@GamRegGB@DCMS I like to believe the Lottery started with good intentions.
£1 a ticket for weekly draws, proceeds from which would help charities and athletes.
Now it's nothing more than an overpriced, unwinnable, exploitative gambling racket.
@GamRegGB@DCMS
@TNLUK All those extra tickets bought and yet:
Jackpot not won;
5+bonus prizes boosted by just £187,500
Match 5 prizes lower than the Raffle prizes they scrapped
Match 4 prizes less than £900
& Match 3 prizes only about 20 quid higher than a regular rolldown.
What a special draw!
@TNLUK Don't be duped into buying extra tickets for this draw.
Jackpot won just 9 times in 93 draws this year.
A measly £750k of that £25m would roll down to the 5+bonus tier.
£18.5m would be allocated to share among an avg. 100,000 Match 3 winners.
Big prizes are NOT on offer!
@TNLUK ***REMINDER***
The #Euromillions Millionaire Maker is a RAFFLE.
Every extra ticket bought lengthens the odds for you and other players.
Do not buy extra tickets. You are only making the odds of winning WORSE.
And lining Camelot's greedy pockets in the process.
@jackpotghost@TNLUK When they said that they were including the times the "Jackpot" would be "won" by rolling down to the lower tiers.
In other words, they were lying!
Misleading customers to keep them paying for a lottery that keeps getting worse for players.
#boycottlotto@GamRegGB@DCMS
@TNLUK No. of Jackpot winners per year since trebling the odds:
2016 - 23
2017 - 19
2018 - 27
No. of Jackpot winners since meddling with the prize structure and introducing "must be won" rollover:
2019 - 8
Most likely explanation: lower ticket sales.
#boycottlotto@GamRegGB@DCMS
@Daniell84686224@TNLUK@Lisa_CMN Don't forget they also erased the previous 5+bonus tier, which had a £40-85k prize fund every draw.
That's another £4m-£8.5m in prizes skimmed per year.
Before the changes, they produced 100+ raffle millionaires IN ADDITION TO 100+ 5+bonus prize winners every year.
#boycottlotto
@TNLUK People complaining should include @GamRegGB and @DCMS in their Tweets.
@TNLUK don't care about your complaints. This is just a PR mouthpiece account for Camelot.
Gambling Commission and Department for Culture.etc must see how Camelot are trashing the reputation of their cash cow.
@TNLUK The rolldown prize structure is shambolic.
There was enough money in the unwon Jackpot to give all Match 5 winners £100k, all Match 4 winners £1.5k and still give Match 3 winners £65 each.
Instead everybody wins peanuts. No life-changing prizes.
#boycottlotto@GamRegGB@DCMS
@TNLUK No Jackpot winner. No 5+bonus winner.
And a measly 47 people won less than £19k on the rolldown.
20 people used to win £20k, plus one guaranteed £1m prize, EVERY SINGLE DRAW.
Now everyone wins peanuts even with a £12.7m Jackpot to share out. #boycottlotto@GamRegGB@DCMS
@DeeBishop1 @TNLUK The @GamRegGB and @DCMS need to stop looking at raw numbers and consider the morality of the exploitative online gambing model and myriad increasingly expensive and unwinnable draw-based games that the GOVERNMENT now encourages the public to engage with, thanks to this company.
@webberty1983@TNLUK July 24th Jackpot win was the first in 14 draws before that, since June 5th.
A measly 8 Jackpot winners in 2019 so far.
Last year, before meddling with the format, again, there were 15 Jackpot winners by this point, plus at least 72 £1m and 1440 £20k Raffle winners.
#boycottlotto
@TNLUK@Inderpa98077530 Wed 2nd September 2015, before you doubled the odds, 160,844 people matched 3 numbers.
And someone actually won the £5m Jackpot, and there was a 5+Bonus winner of £166k.
But, sure, it's much better now that far fewer people win prizes and the Jackpot is never won.
#boycottlotto
@TNLUK A handful of extra millionaires at the expense of THOUSANDS of winners of now non-existent moderate, yet potentially life-changing, prizes of 10's or 100's of thousands.
And palm off the masses with a chance at a hundred quid every other month at odds twice what they used to be.
@webberty1983@TNLUK First answer when asked what they'd do with their money was always buy a house / pay off the mortgage.
Now the top prize is regularly way below the UK average wage.
Often it barely beats even the UK average monthly wage.
Total sham.
#boycottlotto@GamRegGB@DCMS
@Inderpa98077530@TNLUK They don't care if no-one wins.
Overall sales are up, due to Scratchcards, online games and the introduction of yet another game in Set for Life.
The National Lottery is dead. In its place Camelot created an exploitative government-run online gambling enterprise.
