The night after a drama-filled loss at Casino Arizona Field is almost certainly not the right time to plug a new project, but here we are. I’ve started a newsletter that will feature one piece of soccer analysis each week. You can subscribe here:

@_elsik Exactly. This is a much less extreme transition, but Barmby going to work in space between the lines in this game already is another example of Phoenix being able to plug and play.
My Phoenix Rising analysis/coverage has been unfortunately sparse over the last few months, but @_elsik has been doing a fantastic job analyzing games, previewing opponents and more. If you’re not following him, you’re missing out!
@PHXRisingFC@peterramage83@NUFC Congratulations, Peter. Really enjoyed getting to chat with you here and there and wish you all the best with Newcastle!
Kevon Lambert would be an elite defensive midfielder on a team that spends more time defending than Phoenix Rising do. With the ball, though, he’s just not comfortable and that’s a problem for Phoenix.
"We got a bunch of 17, 18, 19 year olds in and this 14 year old on the field, and about 7 minutes into the scrimmage I said 'who's that one?' They were all laughing, and said 'he's the 14-year-old'." - @RickSchantz1
A little Phoenix Rising COVID-19 update for you: a source with knowledge of the team told me that four Rising players have recently returned to the team, giving them at least a week of training before the game on July 11th.
