The Qur'an has been publicly burned to provoke Muslims. Yet Muslims do not respond by burning the Bible in return. Despite this, Islam is still portrayed as the intolerant religion.
This flexibility often stems from the fact that many do not adhere strictly to traditional or scriptural interpretations of the faith. Yet some of these individuals still criticize Muslims for choosing to follow their own religious guidelines more rigorously.
This is how many Christians commonly dress today. I am not suggesting that Christianity itself endorses this style of dress; rather, it appears that a significant number of people are drawn to the faith because of its relatively flexible and liberal approach in practice.
In everyday life, adherents often enjoy considerable personal freedomβsuch as dressing as they choose, eating pork, wearing tattoos, and making many other lifestyle decisions without strict religious restriction.
I will never support child marriage.
I will never support killing someone for blasphemy.
I will never support killing someone for leaving Islam.
I will never support forcing a woman to cover her body.
Iβm Muslim.
And my faith will never require me to kill my conscience to prove that I belong to it.
