@hankgreen Where I live, winter never arrives at all some years meteorologically speaking. Most years lately we’ve gone directly from autumn to spring. I would much prefer to have some actual winter because the snow makes everything much brighter.
@connor_beem@hankgreen Honestly, separating garbage like that into a separate tab you can just ignore has been an actual improvement. Now, I can choose to only see the tweets from people I have chosen to follow (and ads but I’ll live)
@bittrends@hankgreen As someone who has never played or watched baseball, this sounds vaguely familiar and very complicated. In our version played by kids, you throw your own ball to hit (3 misses and you’re out) and the outside team only has to get the ball back to first base to stop all runners.
@Alabama_Jamma @BrownBearVK@Fianna_Saoirse Yeah, but in this new, slimmed down version maybe testing is one of the things deemed of lesser importance? Also, Musk might think it needs to be rolled out urgently.
@LokiStarPhoenix @fenneon_sarah Yeah, 600/day for non-verified, 6000/day for verified and 300/day for new verified accounts. Really, he’s doing you a favour. If you’ve read more than 600 posts in a day, it’s probably for the best to turn Twitter off for a day.
@Fatemaker44@Xexar9999@hankgreen@robertoblake Just because an explanation hasn’t been discovered yet doesn’t mean that there isn’t one. Physics sets hard limits on the human experience. You can’t experience things quicker than neurons can fire. Regardless of how consciousness emerges, it does so within the limits of physics.
@hopperowner@hankgreen We don’t all agree and different places will say slightly different things. I was born in 96 and some will put me in the millennial category and others in gen z. I don’t particularly feel like either. 2000 would make you gen z though by what I’ve seen.
We have now sold out of the 10,000 and 20,000 learner coins, but the majority of the money every year is raised by people who buy a $100 2,000 learner coin.
This is the equivalent of an $8.30 monthly subscription and it is the whole reason we can continue to make Crash Course.
@AmazingPhil Honestly, the real solution is probably to not use the “for you” tab and instead use the “following”. You get rid of a lot of incendiary bs that way.
@coralinevol1 @Eef_Plays Are you honestly saying that Käriää had a better vocal performance than Loreen? I understand liking the song more, I do too, but what mistakes did you think she made in her performance??
@ArmanHezarkhani@hankgreen For sure statistics is something that would be helpful in most people’s lives. Especially when it comes to people lying/ obfuscating the truth using bad statistics.
@hankgreen Why is anyone hanging out in the ‘for you’ tab? So much inflammatory BS. In the ‘following’ tab, I only see tweets from the people I think are worth listening to which makes for a much more pleasant experience.
@johnsalmond@mmbrenn@hankgreen@NickMcKim Hot tip: trans people who are out of the closest don’t intentionally misgender themselves. Trans women are women born in male presenting bodies. That doesn’t make them lesser women. ‘Trans’ and ‘cis’ are adjectives, not qualifiers.
