@Demphio The younger members of the LGBTQ community need to learn how to interpret older media representation of us in the context of the times it was released in.
If you judge by modern standards you’ll completely miss how daring any representation was in media was back then.

@Demphio RHPS was also created not long after a time where LGBTQ people were at risk of getting arrested or institutionalized.
The AIDS crisis made the general public think of them like lepers, some couldn’t even get basic treatment because doctors/nurses wouldn’t touch them.

@Duwang_chew A hospital has a maternity ward named after her because she advocated for mother and child care.
Her generous donations to a children’s hospital in Knoxville led to the hospital board to rename the entire facility after her.

There’s probably so much more that we don’t know about

@yoxics But ALWAYS have bear spray and a firearm, that’s non-negotiable. I know a few people who have been attacked by Kodiak bears.
One got out unscathed because he took a shot before it grabbed him.
But the other didn’t have a gun had his thigh gnawed on like a drumstick.

@yoxics If you are in a place where you notice a bear but they don’t notice you, assess the situation to see if they’re likely to come in your direction. If not, let them leave. If they are, make loud even-toned shouts to let them know you are there. A surprised bear can attack.

@Roo_VT I have the same thing happen because my body doesn’t comply with the average physical characteristics of my birth gender.
Straight up got threatened in the bathroom once because they thought I was tr/ans.
Makes me fear for my best friend who is a trans woman.

@ABC7 Jackie was likely sick for a very long time, but being a wild animal she had to hide it to protect herself. We humans only saw her illness when it was already too advanced.
Everyone should thank the Centers staff for their tireless dedication.

@ABC7 The Ojai Raptor Center did an amazing job trying to save her life, even getting a blood transfusion from another eagle.
Hopefully they can find out more about her illness with a necropsy and use that information to save eagles in the future.

@vedantvedantved The only problem with her program implemented in my school was it made the lunches very small servings.
It’d take two lunch servings to satisfy most, athletes needed 4 servings or more. And while the food was ‘healthier’ it wasn’t quality.
That’s why my school hated it at least

@EricLDaugh Nah it’s more like this guy yaps for way too long about absolutely nothing, wasting prime time spots where nobody is gonna be tuning in anyways. If something is already scheduled, that takes priority. I’d rather wait for a condensed summary than listen to him drone on and on
