Microsoft's new substance, Majorana1, named after the Italian physicist Ettore Majorana who proposed in 1937 that fermions might be their own antiparticle. Cool discovery, but the name? Evokes all kinds of less than cool things, especially if the 1 is read as an L.

@PasteMagazine Rebrands--especially global rebrands-- are very difficult due to trademark and language issues along with preference for a previous name. Alexandre Gabriel and the Maison Ferrand team were completely dedicated to finding a new name. We were honored to be part of the process.
