Our petition ⬇️ to re-fund environmental protection + the petition to ban sewage discharges https://t.co/xBW8hyeN41 - are 2 of the highest trending petitions of 2021. Pls sign both to show our elected politicians that we have just had enough of the systematic abuse of our rivers
Please help us to #savethewye by supporting the @rwtwales Radnorshire Wildlife Trust’s initiative Cut the Cr*p from the River Wye which is campaigning for urgent action from @WelshGovernment ministers https://t.co/VHS0zcKOAB
A group of us went back to the source of the River Wye at Pumlumon today, revisiting the route we had taken at the beginning of our #walkingwiththewye pilgrimage
In the last 24 hours we reached 50,000 signatures on our petition 🎉
🙏Thank you to all those who have supported us so far as we call on government to properly fund environmental protection.

"A simple calculation suggests it is cheaper for water companies everywhere to keep paying record fines than to spend the huge sums required to update sewage works."
And there lies the problem. Profit over performance.

Unfortunately there has been a #pollution event on the Beugh Burn, a tributary of the river Almond near Broxburn resulting in a large fish kill. @ScottishEPA are investigating. Levels of contamination are high and animals and people should avoid the water here.
The judge says The River Dore does not need protecting. Our water quality testing says different.
85 tests, average PO4 levels over 3 times higher than the target levels. Someone has a flawed judgement!

January 2020 law states that all Septic Tanks near watercourses should be replaced by modern Aerated Waste treatment systems But nobody is checking even though every Water Company will know who’s on Septic Tanks as they are only charged for the supply of water
.@lb_southwark says they consulted Peckham residents about using their local park to develop luxury homes.
We have over 140 video testimonies showing the Council acted unlawfully by not consulting local residents.
Southwark lies and should be investigated.
Truly horrific sight – unidentified black fluid pouring into the River Frays near #Uxbridge, spotted last week by @ColneFisheries who then reported it to the Environment Agency. So much more needs to be done to protect our precious rivers from #pollution@EnvAgency@DefraGovUK
