@Plesac19 missing the postseason will NOT make this a disappointing year for the Cubs. All projections saw them winning 75-80 games, around a 20% playoff chance. With this said, it would be considered a collapse if they miss at this point and yes, would leave a sour taste.
@playoffcarp @Yankeebrain2022 @NYYNick_ Nestor has been elite for a year and a half. Montas has been above average for about four years. His 3.30ish ERA in Oakland translates to about 3.70 in Yankee Stadium, against the AL East as opposed to ALW. Give me Nestor.
There’s very considerable hitter-friendly wind for today’s week 3.
Teams scored just 1.2 runs/game in week 2. I’d expect that number to be all the way up around 4 between the wind and the absence of J. Posluszny and K. Connor on the mound.
The Philadelphia Phillies are signing lefty Ben Davies to fill out their roster. Each team now has 6 players and entrance is officially closed, aside from alternates (see rule next).

Alternates: Starting week 2 and for regular season only. Teams can recruit a player of their choice as the alternate, and designate one player on their team to be alternated for. On weeks that the player you’ve designated can’t attend, your chosen alternate can play.
The pitching rules have been set!
• One pitcher cannot appear in more than 2 of the 3 innings in regulation
• You can surpass 2 innings pitched in a game if it goes into extras (anyone can pitch)
• 50 mph speed limit
• Over 50 mph is automatic ball
• 5 balls is a walk
Clarity: No, one pitcher may not appear in all 3 innings even if getting a total of 6 or less outs and staying at or under 2.0 IP. One full inning will have to be covered without the ace, unless your team doesn’t pitch a bottom of 3rd inning in which case you’ve already lost.
