Check which bot you blocked. Training and search are two different switches.
GPTBot collects for training. OAI-SearchBot puts a site in ChatGPT's search answers. We allow both on our own site.
We write the copy in-house, and a quote with writing differs from one that waits for your copy. The words are what a website project waits for, on every project we have seen.
The cheapest quote leaves out the parts that get paid for later: the rebuild, the add-ons, and the customers a thin site never brings in. None of those appear on the first invoice.
A website price given before anyone asks what the site has to do is a template price with your name on it. We do not publish prices. We scope first, then quote a flat rate.
llms.txt is interesting.
We use one on our own site.
But we wouldn’t sell it as some magic AI-ranking file. Google explicitly says it isn’t required for its AI features.
Useful housekeeping. Not a secret weapon.
You probably don’t need separate SEO, AEO, GEO, AIO and LLMO strategies.
You need a fast, crawlable website with clear answers, clean structured data and consistent information about your business.
The acronyms can sort themselves out.
Nobody can guarantee that ChatGPT, Claude, Google or Perplexity will cite your company.
They don’t control those products.
What we can control is whether your site gives those systems a fast, crawlable, clearly attributed answer worth citing.
That’s the work.
One thing we’ve changed in how we write websites:
Headings are increasingly written as the actual questions customers ask.
Then we answer the question immediately.
Good for humans. Good for search. Much easier for an AI assistant to quote.
A simple AEO test for any page:
Can an AI assistant find the copy?
Can it understand who wrote it?
Can it pull one sentence that answers the question without needing the paragraph above it?
If not, there’s work to do.
Most “AEO services” being sold to small businesses are good SEO fundamentals with a new label and a higher invoice.
We’d rather build those fundamentals into the site from day one.
SEO gets you into the results.
AEO gets your words into the answer.
GEO helps make sure the answer gets your business right.
Three acronyms. Mostly the same underlying work.
