@LSplxtter @OJEN_ROEJ Dr Phil is not aloud to actually practice, and does not have his license. He is not reliable. As well, those things he sent the young teens to where abuse camps with a number of sexual assault cases. It's definitely not the best argument to make.
@LSplxtter @OJEN_ROEJ Mental help if it's a concern, educating them on why it's wrong, Assisting them in what they wanted in a healthy way, education on who why might have hurt. If a child understands why they are being spanked, they can understand why they are being punished otherwise #OJENTMFall21
@LSplxtter @OJEN_ROEJ I would appreciate you respect me as I have you and not be sarcastic. Take away privileges, Grounding, Not allowing them access to what they have harmed, Having to apologize or fix the situation, having to do things they don't enjoy that aren't painful, ect
@ActonThatSpeak @OJEN_ROEJ You said The type of punishment doesn't have to involve pain. That is false. I have never said parents like it. I never said it wasn't used for correcting. I am challenge the point of you saying it doesn't have to be painful. How so? What is causing the behavior change if so?
@ActonThatSpeak @OJEN_ROEJ The objective is to cause pain to correct behavior. I'm not saying it isn't. I'm saying you can't say it doesn't have to be painful, it does. Pain is the motivator for the change. No child deserves the pain to change, when there are other options. #OJENTMFall21
@ActonThatSpeak @OJEN_ROEJ It does have to involve physical pain, or pain of some sort. You aren't gently caressing the child and saying no, you are hitting to correct. Hitting hurts. That is the entire point.
@ActonThatSpeak @Vic_Fent0n@OJEN_ROEJ If it's not causing pain then why do it? The point of corporal punishment isn't the gently touch a child and say "No" it's to cause a physical reaction and negitive association with what they did. Children don't deserve this pain, and there's other ways to teach. #OJENTMFall21
@OJEN_ROEJ Knowing something is not legal is often discouraging. Having said that the law will never fully stop harm, it can't. But, it will provide more protection under the law for vulnerable children in the event an adult does choose corporal punishment #OJENTMFall21
Why is it that children, the most vulnerable and impressionable individuals in our society, are the only group that can be legally assaulted? s. 43 (criminal code) is in violation of charter sections 12 and 15(1).
#OJENTMFall21@OJEN_ROEJ
@lucamorrealee@Alexatanas4@OJEN_ROEJ Bottom or not, you are in fact hitting your child. You are violating their personal space, their sense of self-worth, and their right to control their own body. #OJENTMFall21
@ActonThatSpeak @sdcilaw@OJEN_ROEJ If your child attacks you, that is FULLY different from just spanking them. It's also not what we are talking about.
