Finished my first contract with an awesome team and earned my first raise!!! Still a heavy learning curve but being outside a bit to decompress definitely helps!
I landed my first tech role!!! I hope this encourages anyone struggling. Starting or switching careers is not impossible! Things are constantly changing, but no matter what the goal is or what the future holds, taking steps now is better than waiting. Adjust and pivot while moving forward!!!
There are amazing communities where people are learning, improving, and finding support when things get tough. Iβm so grateful they exist!

Had an amazing summer! Finding and exploring new ideas with great people is where itβs at! Definitely closed some knowledge gaps, opened some new ones, and after a week of coding the marathon continues!!!

Went through the docs to pick up GitHub Actions and feeling good about it so far, a bit of frustration for what turned out to be simple fixes but I finally set up a workflow! Getting back into coding after a few weeks of research, excited to start building!

The last two weeks were filled with new concepts and ideas so itβs been an adjustment, but the support and educational resources have been really amazing. Definitely learning a ton and grateful to be a part of the @BlueRidgeLabs mission!

Refactor backend for error handling
#WebDevelopment#100Daysofcode#100Devs
Now if something goes wrong, I can see where it starts at a glance, follow the error path and debug from there. The goal is to reuse this backend for multiple tools, so I still need to clean up the auth flow and make it easier to extend, but Iβm happy with the progress so far!!!
#WebDevelopment #100Daysofcode #100hours #100Devs
Finally finished the refactor so hopefully no more chasing ghosts!!! I was able to simplify a lot of code with the built in express error handling middleware and two reusable utility functions.
Logic and data flow between services is a lot easier to follow since all controllers have a similar job. Parse/validate requests, call services, and send a response. Error handling is completely separated.
Found a better way to implement error handling!!! Got about halfway through refactoring this morning, and now itβs time to run some errands. Back at it tomorrow!
