Victorians are being told to tighten their belts while politicians keep loosening theirs.
Premier Jacinta Allan now takes home a taxpayer-funded package worth more than $530,000 a year. The Opposition Leader is also paid around $400,000 a year.
Was half a million dollars a year not enough..?
Victoria is carrying close to $200 billion in state debt, families are struggling with the cost of living, businesses are under pressure, and yet our political class continues to reward itself with bigger pay packets.
Here’s an idea: freeze politicians’ pay, or better yet, put every MP on the equivalent of the minimum wage until the state budget is back in surplus. Watch how quickly priorities would change when they had to live under the same financial pressures as everyday Victorians.
Leadership is about sharing the burden, not insulating yourself from it.
Do you think politicians should receive pay rises while Victoria is carrying record levels of debt…?
Time to wake up 🇦🇺
This rort need to stop before it too late for Victorians!
Heartbreaking. After Iraq legalized child marriage last year, it has been reported that tens of thousands of girls as young as 6 are being sold by their Muslim fathers to rich Arab men, some as old as 70.
Where is the global outrage?
