Winston Duke, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Wendell Pierce and rising star Seyi Andes-Pelumi are set to star alongside Delroy Lindo in Jabari’s People, the Oscar-nominated actor’s feature directorial debut.

The intergenerational family drama, written by Daoud Abeid and Dakhil Hausif, recently wrapped a 22-day shoot in Kingston, Jamaica. The story follows Jabari, a gifted but defiant Brooklyn teenager sent to live with his estranged grandparents in Jamaica’s Blue Mountains after the sudden death of his mother. What begins as exile becomes a journey through grief, family, identity and inheritance.
