Property should not be so advantaged that it diverts business investment away.

Stamp duty is a tax on the capital if it’s a property investment.

Any professional services incurred to manage the investments/accounting are all subject to GST which re-taxes the capital because they’re payable regardless of outcome.

That’s over $42,000 for every person with a job, >25% of whom are employed by govt at some level and are therefore not net contributors.

It’s a bleak picture for the couple of million who are.
