@CFLNewsHub Your opening paragraph says Hamilton left Winnipeg without any additional injuries. Having all world corner back Jamal Peters leave in an ambulance and miss practice today seems pretty significant to me.
@VINTAGESASKO Does everyone really forget the 2025 Thursday night season opener in Regina where they announced 25k but there were way fewer people actually there? Thursday in June are for the TV contracts.
@adge_16@Stevecoady416@JohnDHodge It’s scheduled every year because TV wants and pays for it. The CFL is finally moving past being a “gate driven league” that runs into bankrupt teams every time attendance dips.
Hamilton attendance will be just fine this year so long as the team is competitive (they should be).
@AngVarv@JoshThomasRepEX 8/9 making the playoffs is the downside.
A longer path for the 5-6 seeds is upside. The 5-6 teams are usually 500 or worse. Now they have to play an extra game. The best team will win more often now and that’s good IMO.
A divisional 2 seed getting a bye shot is fun too.
@TSNDaveNaylor@yyzsportsmedia I’m sure ‘near the airport’ brings a significant premium.
I worked Finance for a multi national company for many years. A job that pays $80k CAD typically pays $80k USD in a similar city. The FX impact isn’t real for the folks that live there.
Big US advantages: taxes, homes, gas
@RedBlackGade@PeterDyakowski There 's also a big difference between 32k per game in WPG, 28k in SSK, and 15-22k in 6 of 7 cities. BC was 27k but spent big on a concert to bump the average up 3k per game.
An extra 6-16k tickets (+ merch & concessions) sold per game goes a LONG way in this league.
@JohnDHodge@3DownNation@CFL_News Of course the guys that are being capped say get rid of it. Players would want rid of the players cap.
That’s not unique to the CFL. MLB players don’t have and certainly don’t want a hard cap.
I think it needs tweaked for terminations, but it has a purpose and should stay
@rickzamperin Love your work and love the Jays Rick, but it feels odd to me that the Ticats PxP guy has a Blue Jays profile picture the day before our Ticats are playing a home game with a chance to lock up the East division title.
Maybe a Ticats pic until after we win tomorrow and then flip?
@PeterDyakowski@kharrisinsuranc@cadisabilitynow That wasn’t his answer to why, it was his answer to when he first thought about it.
Peter might have some credibility if he didn’t misuse data or twist others words every time he posted.
@benyamen Except HAM is 4-6 against the West and has a better record than 4 of 5 West teams. HAM has played 7 games vs the East. 3 West teams have played 8 and 2 have played 7. Your argument holds no water.
Maybe we should exclude CGY from the playoffs. They lost 2x to OTT and 1x to EDM.
