What we should be concerned with at school is building the right relationship with students. Which means they must believe in how we will act. And they need to understand how they should act. Predictability and consistency are at the heart of this. And habit formation.
If a group of teachers, students and researchers sat down and tried to devise the best form of education for 14-18 year olds with assessment built in, no one would come up with GCSEs and A-levels as the answer.
BIG congratulations to Hamworthy Utd representing Bournemouth who beat Enfield Borough in the final of the re arranged Boys U16 final today.
BIG thank you also to our hosts for the day Ware FC #warefc
@tombennett71@oldandrewuk This has been a great Sunday morning read. We must never stop this discourse, nor should it be diluted to a binary set of outcomes. Taxi drivers and Estate Agents are useful barometers of how your school is doing. That and how many times you have to stare at your frozen peas in the local supermarket... 🤣

@MrBenParnell This is the focus for me... If a child chooses to disrupt his own education by behaving in a way the required a trip to RR, that is one thing, but 29 other kids then study without distraction. That is a win for the common good.
Just came across this really old Teachers' TV video about Mossbourne Academy. It's a useful case study. Much of what this shows is now not considered controversial in schools but clearly a laser focus. Really worth watching.
