Canadians have sent 240,000 postcards to senators urging them to oppose Liberal Bill C-9.
Until this morning, the Senate was hiding these postcards in a warehouse in Gatineau. This morning, they were moved to a Senate room, but they still aren't being delivered to senators.
Yesterday at a National Finance committee Champagne was speaking to senators about the situation in Canada.
Want to know why life in Canada will never become affordable for Canadians? Because these individuals never accept any responsibility for it. They will endlessly blame other factors instead of themselves. When a Government can manage a nation with zero accountability, nothing is ever going to change. Ever.
After 11 years I think the evidence of that is quite clear.
😭I thought I was reading this wrong, but nope
Carney government is giving out $2.7 million in bonuses to Alto bureaucrats
That’s the crown corporation that *hasn’t built a train yet*
You, the taxpayer, are paying bonuses to bureaucrats for imaginary trains
Can’t make this up
There's going to be a tipping point w/ this Carney government, & let me explain what it's likely going to be:
Carney has learned so many lessons from the business world - but a big one that Justin Trudeau struggled with - watch your paper trails. A call is better than a text. A closed-door office session (in HIS office, not yours) is preferable to an email. Trudeau was a bit sloppy in that respect. I've seen Justin Trudeau-sent emails that should never have been sent, & the former MPs who had them were stunned that these weren't conversations, even on a speaker phone w/ a senior aide listening, for verification.
So he's smart with that - there's no question. THAT said, there's a few MPs who certainly know how these FIVE floor-crossings have happened, & they're very aware of what was involved. Carney is all transactional - ALL the time. Things are done by design, & they almost never happen by accident. Yes, they're tremendously conscious of leaks. I told you here (& on air) Carney's "State of Palestine" proclamation video on the Sunday morning? That blindsided so many who were never expecting it a week before he & Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand were going to NYC to the UN to do the same damn thing - but Carney wanted a video that made it look like he'd decided, arbitrarily, right time/right place to do it. But as the Raj article points out - good luck raising any ire or mild disapproval that it was done that way. It gets you nowhere at best, blacklisted at worst.
But the MPs who know what was "in it" for the floor-crossers....they have that in their back pocket. Soon enough, it's in the front pocket.....then it's getting pulled out. It's leverage against a man who doesn't give it up EVER - personally, or professionally. The questions that haven't ever been asked of Carney are more notable than the ones that have. But this is a big journalistic breakthrough, & for ridings that feel like their MP borders on a tourist who likes to take a few photos, & shop occasionally, but faces zero questions from residents about issues of clearly marked federal responsibility....sure, that's on them - but it's exactly how the Prime Minister wants it. The less coverage, the less presence, the better. No Town Halls. No media, if possible. No scrutiny. It's what he was very used to in the business world - but democracy matters a tad more in the world he decided he wanted to be part of.
You think there's unrest now? Give it until end of 2027. Words can't describe.
Imagine having a Prime Minister that laughs at a woman who lost her job and became homeless, only to then refuse to answer after getting called out on making a joke of it.
Well you don't have to imagine.
Here he is.
Share this with a Liberal voter.
@KassanoraL Yes, it's terrible in a democracy to have an opposition holding the government accountable.
You'd bitch no matter who was leader of the CPC.
Exposing failure of the current Liberal government on a daily basis is quite telling.
Does Mark Carney realize continuing to claim Canada has the best trade deal with the United States doesn't make him look better in regard to the recession?
