@Newsday When facilities are so short on manpower, what do you expect. Mind you, facilities are extremely short on manpower because of insulting wages offered by Suffolk county. If you work for Suffolk county, you cannot afford to live in Suffolk county, which is wrong.
@GiraffeNeckMarc Mendoza isn’t calling g the shots. This team is nothing but analytics. Which means all the decisions are coming from a computer. Don’t blame Mendy. Blame stearns.
@stefen_rosner@TheHockeyNews Hmm and all the “expert” islander fans are crying trade him. Yet will complain next season when we’re scoring less than we do this year. Makes sense.
@ALaRocco0801 Agreed. I want to see him stay , more so since we’re in it. But let’s not forget Nelson was also a 30th pick himself. Don’t always count out those late first round picks.
@WhyMetsPod Good deal. He’ll replace severino with the hope of manaea coming back. Montas always had a high ceiling. Hopefully he replicate what sevvy did for us last year.
@KickinitwitKeef I would say Washington as a somewhat early favorite. With woods up. Crews right behind him. Abram’s proving himself. The young pitching is getting better. They need the proven power bat. Plus, they’re willing to spend.
@stefen_rosner This team is not buying out anybody. There is nobody bad enough to buy out. And if you buy somebody out, you double the years left on there deal for the buyout cost. It’s simply not happening. A trade will happen before a buyout.
@matt_columbia @IslesDen Isles are not getting Marner. We don’t have the prospect pool and Lou cannot trade multiple 1st’s for him. Pulock is a good start but Mitch is an elite superstar. Isles don’t have what it takes to get him.
@IslesDen Still don’t get the Anders Lee hate from most. Does he deserve 7 mill a year? Not anymore. But 7 straight years with atleast 20+ goals ( excluding year he got hurt ) to me is extreme in everyone wanting him gone. Open market Lee is still getting 5 mill from teams.
@stefen_rosner This is what I’m hoping Friday will be for isles. Lamoriello remains as team president. Roy named GM. They eventually hire Gerard Gallant as head coach. Johnny Boychuk will replace Doug Houda behind the bench. Martin retires and joins player development.
@Rant_or_Reason Since it’s probably unlikely they bring someone in from the outside knowing Lou, how about Boychuk for the rest of the season as interim? You know the players in that room respect him.
@walsha I agree with you Allan, however baseballs contracts are getting wayyyy out of hand in general. Which IMO will eventually lead to the downfall of the sport and a major lockout. Would like to get your opinion. Contracts continue to rise every year in MLB. Soon, billion $contract
@KKurzNHL @racheldoerrie Kevin, in a short example of players who were paid because of playoffs look at Bryan Bickell, Dave Boland, Barclay Goodrow. Very good role players but all got amazing contracts because of there playoff performances. Terrible contracts the preceding season for all.
@Newsday While wastewater treatment plant workers at suffolks southwest sewer district make 50 grand with 3-400 hours of OT worked for the whole year because nobody wants to come work here due to historic low wages for Suffolk county.
@whitesoxcleve @JMincone@BraveToaster3@BeaneaterB@HoodieMaybin That’s what we all said about Harvey, Matz, Hell, even Degrom. As good as he is guy can’t stay on the mound and probably won’t make it to HOF because he hasn’t pitched enough. Strider is great absolutely, let’s give him a few years before we’re making his HOF plaque.
