We’re thrilled to share that the Steve Morgan Foundation has donated £280,000 to expand Coping with Diabetes, the psychological and wellbeing support tool for children and young people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). 💙
Co-created with @DigiBeteUK, the free to access tool brings together films, animations and interactive activities to help young people understand and manage the emotional impact of the condition.
Research shows that young people living with T1D have a higher chance of developing mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression and diabetes distress. Thanks to this incredible investment, we can reach even more young people with personalised, life-changing support when they need it most.

💙 Launching a new course designed specifically for healthcare professionals supporting individuals living with Type 1 Diabetes and Disordered Eating (T1DE) 💙
In collaboration with University Hospitals Dorset NHS Trust, Barts Health NHS Trust, and the CYP Diabetes Network, this course aims to deepen an understanding of T1DE. It supports professionals to better recognise early signs, understand the underlying drivers, and respond in a way that considers both physical health and emotional wellbeing.
Improving awareness of T1DE is a crucial step toward earlier intervention, safer care, and better long-term outcomes for those affected.
If your work involves supporting people with diabetes, this training offers practical insight into a critically important area of care.
