Chaim Weizmann, Israel first President and one of the great Zionist visionaries, was reportedly once asked by a member of House of Lords:
"Mr. Weizmann, why Palestine [as it was then]? Why not elsewhere, with less enemies, hardships and difficulties, somewhere closer perhaps?”
Weizmann's reply:
“My dear Lord, why is it that you insist on driving two-and-half hours—every weekend—to visit your elderly mother, when there is a perfectly decent nice old lady living just across the street?”

“If I had not felt certain that every additional trial was ordered by infinite love and mercy, I could not have survived my accumulated suffering.” – Adoniram Judson

— Charles Spurgeon

Hegseth played basketball for Princeton University from 1999-2003. In high school, he set the school record for most career three-point shots.
Impressive.
