Dutch universities are making a move to abandon the impact factor in recognition and reward considerations. A group of 170 Dutch academics posted a critical response to this initiative. I summarize why these responses fail to convince me. 🧵

If you’re a researcher, I really recommend being a research participant once in a while. I always find it interesting to do consent forms, surveys, interviews etc. from the other side. Helps research design massively (and helps out other people!) ✅
Interesting publication leveraging crowdsourced insight on the important future questions likely to face entrepreneurs and by extension academics who study entrepreneurship. As surveys go, I recall this was one of the more enjoyable ones.

My paper (coauthored with Tomaz Cater) Bibliometric Methods in Management and Organization has just reached 1000 citations. This is the first paper from my PhD and I have never dreamed it would have such impact. It's really gratifying so many researchers are finding it useful.
