There is no moral equivalence between the October 7 massacre and the subsequent war in Gaza.
October 7 was a deliberate, planned terrorist atrocity: Hamas and its allies crossed the border to murder 1,200 people (the large majority civilians), rape, torture, burn families alive, and take hostages for the explicit purpose of killing Jews and Israelis. That is the documented record from bodycam footage, survivor testimony, forensic evidence, and Hamas’s own videos and statements. It was not “resistance.” It was the largest single-day slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust, carried out by a group whose charter and leadership openly seek Israel’s destruction. Iran’s long-term investment in Hamas made the scale of what happened far more achievable.
The war that followed is Israel’s military campaign to destroy the organization that did that, recover the hostages, and prevent a repeat. Civilian deaths in Gaza are real and tragic. They are also the predictable result of Hamas’s strategy: embedding command centers, tunnels, rocket launchers, and fighters inside and under hospitals, schools, mosques, and dense residential areas while diverting aid and construction materials to military infrastructure. That is human-shield doctrine, not accident. Every serious military analysis of urban warfare against an enemy that refuses to wear uniforms or separate from civilians records high non-combatant casualties; the alternative of leaving Hamas intact guarantees more October 7s.
“What about Gaza?” does not erase or justify the intentional mass murder of civilians on October 7. It does not turn a defensive war against a genocidal terrorist group into the moral equivalent of that group’s deliberate targeting of families at a music festival and in their homes. Intentional massacre of civilians is a war crime and a crime against humanity. Fighting the perpetrators while they hide behind their own population is tragic, ugly, and still not the same act.
If the objection is simply “too many dead civilians,” the consistent position is to demand Hamas surrender, release the hostages, and stop using Gazans as shields—not to treat the original massacre as a negotiable detail.

He’s issued executive orders, expanded ICE enforcement, sued sanctuary jurisdictions, pushed to withhold some federal funding from non-cooperating jurisdictions, and directed the Department of Justice to challenge local policies. Many of those efforts have been challenged in court or resisted by state and local Democrat lunatic ideology.
