There are really no words to describe how much Wendell Berry's work has meant to me, my family, and our hopes.

Tonight, though, I'm thinking about Wendell's Tanya.

@July4thPBS @lorenallred Actually, it was Stars and Stripes Forever that closed out the show. Please let it be heard in its entirety without voiceovers and countless interruptions and promos for what’s coming up next on PBS.

Poor Beethoven had a tough time. He wrote this letter on this day 225 years ago

Good morning. Did you know these three geniuses were born in the same year? Handel, March 5, 1685; Bach, March 31, 1685; and Scarlatti, October 26, 1685. Must’ve been something in the air? #music #composers

Life is like a guitar. @ericchurch offers a brillianct commencement address (and guitar lesson) at his alma mater, UNC, that belongs in the pantheon of addresses of this sort with those of Steve Jobs (Stanford) and David Foster Wallace (Kenyon College).

[Dante 🇺🇸 @DanteTheDon]

Was not ready for Eric Church to deliver the best commencement speech I’ve ever heard.

Six guitar strings. Six pillars of a life.

Faith. Family. Spouse. Ambition. Community. You.

Tune them when you’re whole, not just when you’re broken.

Watch the whole thing.

This guy got so annoyed with spam callers that he wrote a script that endlessly calls them back and plays Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” on repeat until they finally block his number.

Early Christians had a complete Bible by the 4th century—but that’s not the only thing they were reading to deepen their faith.

Here’s what books the early Church read besides the Bible🧵

[The Gospel Coalition @TGC]

Please be in prayer for The Gospel Coalition’s co-founder, Don Carson.

As he shared in a recent Christmas letter, the physical and cognitive limitations arising from his Parkinson’s Disease have forced him to end his speaking engagements and other ministry involvements. Along with scores around the world who have been touched by his decades of biblically faithful writing, teaching, and church leadership, we want to express gratitude to Don for the founding vision and ongoing guidance he has provided The Gospel Coalition, which marks its 20th anniversary next year.

Please ask the Lord to show mercy to Don and his family, granting them the knowledge of him and the sweetness of his presence as they walk through this trial. Though he is slowing down and facing significant health challenges, we take comfort in the truth Don is fond of reminding us: “I am not suffering from anything that a good general resurrection can’t fix.”

@jsparkblog @GailLongfellow I would bill them for the times you had to pay for a sitter. I did that once when I had to lose money from work due to their transportation not coming to pick up my mom for her dialysis appointment. They were shocked, but they paid me! I was nice but very firm about it.
