Our work on dissecting the temporal dynamics of embodied collaborative learning using multimodal learning analytics has now been published in the Journal of Educational Psychology.

Key insights:
1/ This study enhances our understanding of embodied collaborative learning in clinical simulations by integrating social constructivism, situated cognition, and embodied cognition theories.
2/ Utilizing multimodal learning analytics (MMLA), it reveals how students’ verbal, spatial, and physiological behaviors intricately interact during learning processes.
3/ The findings highlight the potential of MMLA in supporting feedback and reflection practices by identifying key behavioral differences in collaborative environments.

2️⃣ More efficient for single insights, but not for multiple insights.
3️⃣ Strong analysts might find storytelling elements disruptive.
4️⃣ Effective for all users, regardless of data literacy.
