Prime Minister @Dr_HariniA was a student in #India in the 1990s as an ICCR scholarship holder, and she studied at Hindu College, just as I studied in the 1990s in Pune on an ICCR scholarship. I believe that experiences in another country, especially when you are a student and not yet a politician or diplomat, are very important. The impressions and friendships formed at that stage are very, very important, and I am sure they help in mutual understanding and in moving relations forward.
Good to meet Prime Minister @Dr_HariniA of Sri Lanka in Colombo today.
Assured India's steadfast commitment to Sri Lanka's rebuilding post Cyclone Ditwah. The reconstruction package offered by 🇮🇳 is a reflection of the deep bonding between our two nations.

Both Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have an early warning system on natural disasters. And if Sri Lanka wants it, we can start working on it.

I don’t know if Sri Lanka wants to set up a National Disaster Response Force like the one we have. If they are interested in it, we will do everything we can to help build it. @IndiainSL High Comm. @Santosh jah to Virakeasri.

We view any problem or crisis in a neighbouring country as a crisis for our own country. We did it even without Sri Lanka asking.

I see more continuity. Relations change from time to time. There is greater trust and certainty in the bilateral relationship.

We view any problem or crisis in a neighbouring country as a crisis for our own country. We came in 2004 during the Tsunami, in 2016 during landslides and floods, and in 2022 crisis. But the truth is, we did it even without Sri Lanka asking.
