@GoldBellClips There is no perfect solution to this dilemma. A contractor who is paid hourly will tend to drag the work out. But when they are paid for โthe jobโ then they tend to rush the work and do a shitty job (which is even worse, IMO).
@Hot_Pepper76 When I think of R.E.M. the song that first pops into my mind is Letter Never Sent. The album Reckoning was my introduction to R.E.M.. And, although it was never a hit, that song stands out to me as quintessential.

@FLCons I donโt use them if I have any more items than I can carry in my two hands. If any store I frequent get rid of the last of their cashiers, I will shop somewhere else.
@julest10003@jaketapper@wjspirdione He will just retreat to his sycophantic echo chamber where everyone provides him with his necessary levels of narcissistic supply. Then he will come out swinging again. We should expect a massive tweet storm this evening and into tonight.
Just went out to check on her. She was still taking a nap in the same spot. Then she suddenly got spooked and jumped up. She ran toward the back of the yard and disappeared. Then a Cardinal landed on the deck railing in front of me. It moved so fast this was the only pic I got.
I woke up early this morning and looked out my backroom windows to see a couple of deer wandering around my yard here in Southwest Virginia. And it immediately reminded me that we are now less than 42 days away from Disclosure Day. ๐ฝ ๐ธ ๐ฆ

@Jassmini2 I remember when we started cutting up those metal Roller Skates and using the parts to create makeshift Scooters and eventually Skate Boards.
I really think stories like this are even more intriguing than other types of paranormal activities, including UAP sightings. A compelling UAP experience might have you wondering whether weโre alone. But this type of thing will have you questioning reality itself.

Not sure how to start this post so I am going to simply tell you what just happened. Life has always been a profound teacher to me, offering precious moments when I least expect them.
As many of you know, I am currently on the road for my Persona Non Grata podcast. Since Dallas, I have been accompanied by my trusty camera man and road manager, โDaveโ. A man of many talents, Dave and I have had lots of time to talk and get to know one another. Born in Sunderland, England, Dave shared with me musings from his time as a boy in England back in the 1970s (yes, we are both old). With a proper British accent, he told me how he decided to move to Nashville and is now the owner of an entertainment production company. However, donโt be fooled, each day Dave gets up, packs the car with camera gear, tripods, and everything else. He also takes care of all the logistics for our travel. And when everything is done, he repeats the same steps before we get home. Then spends hours downloading footage before getting a few hours sleep. Think of Dave as a cross between a Himalayan Sherpa, a babysitter, and a damn fine camera man. Today we are out on our way to Portland, driving through what is arguably some of the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen: Mt Shasta to our right, majestic pine trees to our left, and a deep blue crystal lake below that meanders lazily through a mountain canyon. As we round a curve, a song plays on the radio that I have NEVER heard before. Itโs a song that immediately brought me back to a time when I wore a uniform. Memories of meeting my newborn daughter for the first time and staring into her blue eyes and realizing I missed her birth by three months. Bitter sweet memories anticipating the moment I would see my family once again after thinking I may never make it back home alive. The song made me remember the sacrifices of friends and the excruciating pain of their families waiting for their loved ones to return. And finally, the song made me remember the faces of friends that made it back, and the empty feeling in my heart of friends that didnโt. As the song ended, I was overcome by emotion and I may have let a tear slip from the corner of my eye. It was one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard.
Dave, as someone who now lives in Nashville and a bit of a music artist himself, I thought I would ask him if he knew who this incredible artist was. Not receiving a response, I thought that Dave didnโt hear me so I asked again, this time turning to direct my question directly at him. As I glanced over at Dave, he had a sheepish smile and said nothing, as if maybe embarrassed by something. Confused, I asked a third time. This time, he looked into my eyes and said โmeโ.
In complete disbelief, I asked him again, and he confirmed it was him who was playing on the radio!
For a few seconds, what felt like forever, I couldnโt process the fact that not only was this country song about a soldier returning home sung by a Brit, and not only did it capture perfectly my sentiments while back in uniform, the person who sung it was sitting right next to me and had been my trusty companion the entire trip!
Needless to say, I thanked him profusely and wondered to myself if God was trying to tell me something. I also wondered why this song wasnโt number 1 each and every Memorial Day and Veteranโs Day.
For those of you who served our nation, or for those of you who have family who served or are serving, please take just a moment and treat yourself to what I consider one of the best country songs ever made.
God works in mysterious waysโฆand has time and time again, spared me from the worst. And today, he has given me yet another gift. I want to thank my new friend, David Bradly for acknowledging our veterans and giving me truly a profound treasure I will keep in my heart forever. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.
