This is exactly the Catholic Church teaching: The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) 2241 teaches that prosperous nations must welcome immigrants, while also acknowledging the right of states to regulate borders for the common good. Immigrants have a *reciprocal duty to integrate* by respecting their new country's heritage, obeying laws, and contributing to civic life.

The Maronite Church formally confirmed its communion with Rome in 1182 during the Crusades, *although the Church maintains it never left communion with the Holy See*. The Maronite Church was never in Schism with the Holy See, the ties were broken after Muslim conquests that left the Church geographically and politically cut off. It was a re-establishment and re-acknowledgement of an existing and continuous union not a reconciliation after a schism.

@henrizakaria Jesus Established the Catholic Church with St. Peter as his Vicar. Jesus also commanded us to be united with this Church, not with the liturgy. The Maronite Church should maintain its identity but not at the expense of Schism.
