@Pirat_Nation I didn't stop buying Final Fantasy because I can watch streams of it. I stopped buying Final Fantasy because it has changed too much and doesn't appeal to me anymore.
I will buy Resonance and I hope they will learn from this.
@1834_69 Legal case where CC processors were held liable for profiting off CSEM that was uploaded to Pornhub.
But that was actually illegal content which is hard to find and moderate so they're now demonstrating false compliance by targeting low hanging fruit, like video games and anime
@JayIsJoly I used to dislike it just because I had a friend growing up who glazed it as "the only good Final Fantasy" and my childish idea of arguing back was tearing it down instead of elevating the others, which made me overly critical
I do think it gets a pass on a lot of flaws though
@namigojo Nomura's original multi-game plan was unrealistic as either a spin-off or a mainline entry in a franchise that wasn't his. Especially after he had already pushed it back one gen over performance issues. Unfortunately, he needed to be checked on it, but it wasn't handled right.
@lofi_lover0930 It explains itself poorly, which leads to people over researching, breaking the game, and regurgitating criticisms without experiencing it fully themselves.
Theres no way everyone learned the card refine trick on their own, but so many who hate FF8 act like its game defining.
@NotiPlay_ SIE has been in a power struggle between its east and west branches for years. JP games need to be reviewed by a western board before domestic release, they forced JP to adopt the western button layout. Even their GOTY winner Astrobot had a french director with an all JP team.
@TamamoTailFluff@makhaccino Its an exaggerated account to make the theme more obvious, but you don't need to invalidate the important message about mental health and the importance of community that its trying to convey because you dislike some of the tropes associated with it.
@TamamoTailFluff@makhaccino Well Rean didn't see it that way. He spends 4 games trying to get himself killed because he thinks he's a burden to the people around him. Just like a lot of people don't realize that they are special and loved by those around them, even if they can't see why themselves.
@ptprotagonist Shadowbringers is good. Definitely the best they've done in that time frame.
Opera Omnia and WOFF are just fanservice.
Stranger of Paradise is fun as a game, but doesn't live up to the brand in terms of story/ost etc.
7R, 15, and 16 are all mid.
@sammylee_0 Sephiroth is the most iconic. He completely changed what the average JRPG villain looked like.
And no, Kefka did not "win". He pushed a statue and shot lasers at people for a few months. His win condition was crushing the human spirit, which is an impossible task.
