Recently, one of our marketers discovered that Amazon does not allow "queer theory" to be included as a keyword in enhanced product descriptions (the fancy graphics you sometimes see at the bottom of a book page on Amazon).
In other words, our book about how LGBTQIA+ content is rendered invisible by the internet's infrastructure could NOT be tagged as "queer theory." Ironic, don't you think?

I've been asked what specific local & state elections matter a lot in the wake of Dobbs, & what concretely they'd affect.
With the caveats that the next steps need to involve mobilization, solidarity, & protests that aren't electorally focused, here are some thoughts. ↓
@samjmintz Keep an eye out that they don't just leave it vacant though. I used to tell people to unsubscribe if their local paper wasn't filled in a timely manner because I saw Lexington's go reporter-less for MONTHS while I worked there.
@samjmintz The budget never allowed for enough freelancers or God forbid a floating extra reporter for the region that could step in and keep it from being embarrassingly bad.
@samjmintz I think Ross (the main Arlington reporter) got a gig with Boston dot com a couple weeks ago, so it is a low point. But the amount of time they allowed papers to go without coverage was something that drove me nuts when I worked for Gannet (Gatehouse at the time).
Pope Francis has criticized couples who choose to have pets instead of children as selfish, arguing that their decision to forgo parenthood leads to a loss of "humanity" and is a detriment to civilization. https://t.co/pgjhADcDel
This is a slippery slope - soon firefighters will be asked to stop collecting fares for putting out fires. Libraries won't charge for book rentals. Public works will fix the roads without charging the people who live on that street.
It sounds nice but who's going to pay for it!?
THREAD: Today, I’m excited to put forward an appropriation order for $8M to make Boston’s 23, 28 & 29 bus lines fare-free for a 2-year period. Here’s how this program will lay the groundwork for accessible transit in our city:
The Cooper-Rush-to-Amari-Cooper TD is the 1st in NFL history where the passer's first name & receiver's last name are an exact match
Cowboys also have the only pass TD where passer's LAST and receiver's FIRST were an exact match: Andy Dalton-Dalton Schultz in Wk 11, 2020 at MIN
To recap on basic decency & accountability:
- BPD: no apology to family
- Boston Police Dept has yet to discipline the officers, even though the internal investigation wrapped up more than a year ago.
No lessons learned? #bospoli
