In 1975, Dr. Frances Cress Welsing was fired from Howard University over her views expressed within The Cress Theory of Color Confrontation, which silenced a block of her academic influence.

While Howard University is a historically Black university, it was the power dynamic of White supremacy that drove the decision to remove Dr. Welsing’s influence on the Black student body.

Dr. Welsing deserves to be celebrated and honored for her endless contributions to Black society.
