@lxeagle17@SplitTicket_ Did you do any modeling of Montana with a straight-up Alme/Bodnar matchup? Or is the Split Ticket model still assuming a D nominee?
@DrewSav Why does this happen? I understand money is a factor, but surely state parties can at least be expected to find a no-name candidate to run in these districts. Is it not a failure on their part? Am I a rube for thinking this?
With all of the discussion surrounding redistricting/gerrymandering in the US right now, I felt motivated to start a new project to answer the question "What if American districts were drawn with the same rules* as Canadian ridings?"
So I drew them, starting with Alabama. 🧵
@lxeagle17@DrewSav What do you make of Adam Hamilton deciding to run for the Dem nomination in Kansas after originally exploring a campaign as an independent?
@Melongungames Hi! I generally enjoy your art, but I was curious about something. Did you have permission from @EchoSaber1 to copy their art for this? At the very least, it feels like you should give them public credit for the original.
@admcrlsn This is probably an oversimplification, but Mills never really seemed to have much heart in running. It took a LONG time for her to officially declare, and then her lack of visible campaigning felt pretty damning.
Hasan is a multimillionaire, privileged enough to be unaffected by a JD+Thiel presidency & continuation of MAGA fascism.
He’s not Hispanic or trans, the cost of living crisis doesn’t affect him, he’ll benefit from tax cuts for the 1% AND he gets to make content, meaning more $$.
@LinkofSunshine My immediate mental connection every time Vivek gets mentioned is the time Pablo Torre told a story about Vivek showing up to a Harvard class reunion and taking a plate of food to eat alone in his car. It's my defining impression of him forever.
