@JohnSimpsonNews Thankyou @JohnSimpsonNews. We have not forgotten the attempts to gaslight the country. That was—and remains—a real scandal. Those responsible should not be allowed to rewrite history or pretend it never happened.
"Even if Trump’s plan ends the Gaza war, Palestinians will face a deep, enduring void: of language, hope, and politics that proved futile in the face of genocide." https://t.co/1cX6Cbdlzq

NEW REPORT: grave violations against children have risen by at least 45% from 2022 to 2024.
2024 marked a catastrophic year for children living amidst conflict, as highlighted by the @UN's annual Children and Armed Conflict Report.
This alarming increase must be halted.
Today, the UN released its annual Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC) Report, detailing the impact armed conflict is having on children around the world.
The report tracks grave violations against children - including killing, maiming, recruitment as child soldiers...

Our statement on the escalation of hostilities across the Middle East:
We are deeply concerned by recent developments and Israeli and Iranian air strikes with reports emerging that children have already been killed, adding to an already fragile and volatile regional context.
While the full implications of this escalation remain to be seen, the risk of a broader regional confrontation is real and deeply worrying. Across multiple countries, children are living amid repeated cycles of violence, fear, and displacement — with long-term consequences for their safety, wellbeing, and future.
The use of explosive weapons in populated areas risks severe harm to civilians, especially children, and should be avoided at all costs. As well as children being killed, losing loved ones and homes, children are being terrified by seeing missiles fired across the skies, hearing air raids, and told to stay away from windows and inside. Save the Children calls on all parties to uphold international humanitarian law and prioritise the protection of civilian life.
Children always bear the brunt of any violence, children are the first and most impacted by any conflict. Any war is a war on children.
‘I saw war crimes’: UK Special Forces veterans accuse SAS and SBS colleagues of executions and cover-ups
Compelling reporting by the BBC here that exposes something @AOAV has been saying for years: that the SAS in Afghanistan were out of control.

British surgeon Tom Potokar who’s in Gaza, is treating the war wounded, trying to put together broken bodies torn apart by bombs. The Israeli air strikes have imposed a terrifying legacy with a huge number of amputees
On the cross, Jesus absorbed all the violence of the world. He put the systems of death on full display.
Jesus made a public spectacle of death in order to subvert it with love, forgiveness, and an empty tomb. He shows us that God would rather die than kill.
Christ, the executed and risen Savior, snatched victory out of defeat. He wore evil down with love. He resisted violence without resorting to violence. He disarmed the powers of sin and death. He shows us that nothing - nothing- can stop God’s love.
Now any time we resort to violence, we betray the Prince of Peace.
