I've published my second dystopian short story, via Vocal! It's for a contest and I would appreciate a look/feedback, #WritingCommunity

@RonaldoMen4691@EvaWillaim If you watch carefully, someone grabbed the back of her hoodie and pulled her down. Whether this was a jerk move or for engagement, like so many people are saying, is up in the air.
@daggersex@CricketSurfing@xevekiah I... don't care. I literally do not care. Their psychological trauma can be addressed when the mother and child are not in mortal danger. Doctors don't need to include them just because some meninist idiots think men don't get enough attention.
@0__INFIDEL__0@xevekiah I am all for inclusive language, but to demand doctors say "Mother, father, and baby are doing fine," is ridiculous. It's like saying that a crash victim is doing fine, and so is their significant other who wasn't in the car. They weren't the one in danger.
@0__INFIDEL__0@xevekiah Throwing out psychological terms incorrectly doesn't make the point you think it does. My example was just that, a lived experience shared to counter your ignorance.
The fact is that the mother is included after delivery because it affects her health. It does not for the dad.
@daggersex@CricketSurfing@xevekiah My point is that even if mortality is low, mothers can suffer a range of physical trauma during and after birth. I lived, but my husband had to be told that I wasn't alright. That I was dying. That he had to make a call to save my life.
Fathers do not experience this.
@flutterpuke@BenisKen The joke is we're supposed to think she is going to get roofied and raped, but actually it's a sponge toy that inflates in water, thereby subverting expectations.
So. Funny.
@Crypto_KB_@CricketSurfing@xevekiah I hemorrhaged. I bled out. Only an emergency hysterectomy saved my life. I needed TWO blood transfusions.
You are arguing semantics against a real world example of why doctors say that both the mother and baby are doing fine. Because I was not.
@CricketSurfing@xevekiah As a woman who bled out on the operating table after my child was born and had to have an organ removed just to stay alive... I give you a hearty - go educate yourself.
@unlimited_ls Did the sitting president make those memes? No? Then Bill Maher should shut up.
A random person who might be on the left being an asshole is different from the leader of their party doing it as his cult following foams at the mouth trying to defend him.
@vert1940162549@BDakoo@treech07 Or how about the Statue of Pharaoh Khufu/Cheops, which clearly has black features. Or the Wooden figures from the tomb of Mesehti, which are painted dark brown.
You are wrong.
@vert1940162549@BDakoo@treech07 They are from an AFRICAN country, for goodness sake. Yes, over time immigration and mingling with other cultures changed their skin color, but look at ancient Egyptian art. Facsimile, Menna (TT 69), marsh hunting is a good start. They clearly depict dark brown people.
